Young artist ventures into gospel rap

The young artiste from Moiyabana village, who goes by the stage name Uber Prync 3G, told Arts & Culture that his journey in the music industry could be traced to December 2018 when he released his first single titled, ‘Been Waiting.’
He further explained that he long had love for the entertainment industry from a tender age and got the exposure during his junior school days when he started his music career. “I started off doing Motswako but as time passed by, I got to know more about Hip Hop both locally and internationally.
That made me to do what I am currently doing, gospel rap music. I recently worked on a song called Pray that features TMLee, Kaey Maxx & TSS BW. It was released on April 29, 2022 and was produced by Kaey Maxx,” he said.
He also stated that he has released a few singles so far namely; Been Waiting, LGG and Goat Season, which were released on December 2020. The singles were put together by Sal Angel and MT Beats. He said the songs were released with their visuals shot by Sladefx (Cine Media.) Uber Prynce 3G also stated that he writes his music adding that since he was doing gospel Rap/Hip Hop most of the time, he sources direction from his mentor.
He further explained that he was inspired by a number of local artistes in the likes of Ban T, Rockafella, Sal Angel and internationally by Reach Records Artists. “My view on the local music industry is that getting to put your work out there and get exposure is still difficult. Getting bookings for performance more especially for upcoming artistes also proved to be impossible. I have encountered a number of challenges as an upcoming local artiste. It is not easy being a Christian rapper. Not all shows currently happening in our country cater for us.
Even getting collaborations is not easy because of music content difference,” he said. His advise to inspiring singers is that they must keep on following their dreams and never fear to put on some work. He added that there was a saying which says, ‘whatever you do is a seed so make use of that seed and make it beneficial but mostly important is to involve God in whatever you do.’ “I want to thank everyone who is giving a hand in supporting Uber Prync 3G. I am currently working on new projects with KKDB, ANT to name a few, which will be released toward the end of the year,” he ended.
