The festivals are organised to celebrate local arts.

The fashion show on Friday consisted of contestants from the southern part of the country.

“These arts festivals are part of the presidential competitions that are now transitioning to art national festivals,” Kgosi Bana Sekai said. “The arts festivals are put in place in order to help showcase diversity in arts and culture,” said Sekai.

The fashion show competitions had four categories on the night being modelling, hair dressing, dressmaking and fashion design. The competitions started off with the modelling category. Hair dressing was the next in line, and people got to see the beautiful hairstyles that they had never seen before. Fashion design was one category that people fell in love with; the designers pulling it off with their creative designs.

The winners who made it on the night from the four categories will be making a journey to Francistown on July 9 for the final, which is set to be held there.

Gobonaone Ramoupo revealed that this is not the last time the people are seeing such kind of a festival as it proved to be yielding results, adding that they will be able to help the country’s economy.
