Gospel show with a twist tonight

The gospel concert is titled Another Level Night of Praise and Worship Explosion.
In an interview with Arts & Culture, the Abundance City International communications and public relations representative, Rebaone Gola said Another Level Night of Praise and Worship Explosion is an event about praise and worship songs and dance by various local gospel artistes and local church choirs, and a variety of performances by individuals.
The individual performances will cover other entertainment genres like poetry and comedy. The event will take place at the church auditorium in Gaborone West Industrial, next to Clover Botswana.
This event was inspired by the need for entertainment by Christians and gospel lovers, within their area of spirituality and without having to compromise their beliefs and principles. “Local gospel artistes that will grace the show include Danko song maker Ezra Neethings, Shinkie of Moya Waaka, Boitshepo, Ma-Hazel, Sesame Baingapi-Khofi, Minister Tebogo Seoseng, Wanano, Neo Segotlong, ACI Praise & Worship Team and many more,” he said.
However, he said even though they promise that the show will be very intriguing, it will strictly be a gospel show in the sense that all activities in song, dance, poetry, and comedy will be all along the gospel principles.
He explained that they would make sure that the whole event does not derail from the principles of Christianity. Gola added that the profits would be used for the church building project and other church expenses, particularly because of the C0VID-19 pandemic.
He said the church numbers were restricted adding that at some point, the church was closed, which made some of the church commitments like The Community Welfare Products to suffer.
He pointed out that the church was currently taking care of more than 11 underprivileged families in Old Naledi by giving them food hampers every month. Furthermore, he explained that the church also had a project of financing the education of some of the children from those families but all those projects suffered due to COVID-19. “These artistes came in to support the Church of God, and some of the upcoming came in for exposure as well. The event is done in one spirit of ‘Building the Church of God’.
They volunteered to take part in this fund-raising event, because of their deep Christian principles and their understanding of the consequences the church suffered because of the pandemic. “They fully understand that the proceeds will be solely for advancing the vision of the Kingdom of God and offered to take part without expecting any compensation.
However, the church will consider a token of appreciation at the end of the event,” he said. Moreover, Gola said the church lined up very strong security, made up of men from the church. The security is said to marshal the parking areas, the entrances while some would be inside the auditorium to watch over proceedings.
He added that those men were well trained for the job, and have the necessary tools to ensure revellers are safe. Speaking of the challenges, Gola said the biggest one was financing the show. He explained that the church was not well off financially adding that the show was aimed at addressing the situation.
He said they deliberately decided not to look for sponsorships because they did not want the event to loose its meaning and end up looking like a money-spinning show.
He added that they largely depended on volunteers where they had so far managed to cover almost all key areas that need to be in place before the show. “Abundance City International is a church formed in 2009, and based in Gaborone West Industrial, Gaborone, under the tutelage of Prophet Thuso Molefhe. The vision of the church is: 'Raising a generation that makes a difference. ACI currently has three branches in Gaborone (main), Jwaneng and in Rustenburg, South Africa.
The church is mostly a platform for youth to be groomed into responsible self-reliant citizens,” Gola added.
