He said that the accident involved two police officers who were using an official car and four other individuals travelling in a private car (Toyota Vits). “So far we have lost two lives; a woman and a man from the private car aged 50 and 57 years respectively.

The police officers and other passengers are still hospitalised at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital,” said Molapisi. He added that the deceased persons are the driver of the private car and the passenger who was sitting in the front.

All the passengers involved in the fatal accident are aged between four and 57 years. “Right, all we know is that the other car was coming from the filling station and collided with the another upon joining the A1 Highway.

We do not know what exactly transpired to result in the collision,” he said. When asked if one of the drivers was intoxicated at the time of the fatal accident, Molapisi answered that at this stage investigations are still in infancy. Investigations on the matter are still ongoing.
