The deceased has been identified as a 24-year-old Zimbabwean male named Jahelihle Justice Moyo. Giving an update, Botswana Police Service (BPS) public relations officer, senior Superintendent Near Bagali said the deceased persons had pending cases, including robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, entering Botswana through an ungazetted point of entry, and theft common.

Bagali further stated that one of the suspects, a 31-year-old Motswana man, got injured in the process and is still hospitalised. He added that the other three suspects that were arrested at the material time were arraigned before Extension II Magistrate's Court on Wednesday facing a robbery charge.

“The trio is Zimbabwean male nationals, Alfred Morris Moyo, 36, and Ephasellow Tanda, 45, and Motswana male citizen, Lebogang Bose, 33. They have been remanded in prison and will appear again before court on June 14. At the time of the commission of the offence, Tanda was on bail for a robbery committed in January 2021, while Bose had a pending case of threat-to-kill that occurred in January this year,” Bagali said.
