The debt includes wages and signing-on fees. Reports are that there was an agreement and a payment plan between the club and the Zimbabwean midfielder to settle the outstanding amount that exceeds P60,000. In response to Mmegi Sport's enquiry on the matter, Gunners’ secretary-general, Benson Mere said the club is yet to be alerted on the matter by the local football authority.

“We cannot comment on the issue that involves Machazani because we have not received a correspondence from the BFA (Botswana Football Association) or BFL (Botswana Football League). So we cannot comment on that,” Mere said. BFA chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo told Mmegi Sport that he would have to verify with the association records before he can comment on the matter. “I am not privy to that. (I) would have to check our records first.

We have not received any complaint either,” Mfolo briefly said.

This publication has been informed that Notwane is preparing to challenge the authenticity of the 2021-2022 Premier League after Gunners was allowed to register players in the off-season and compete in the just-ended league campaign. Notwane was said to be in the final stages of preparing their appeal this week. Notwane wanted to verify certain information first before launching the appeal. Meanwhile, Notwane will meet tomorrow for an elective general assembly to be held at the clubhouse in Gaborone.
