TAFIC closer to lowest point

Matjimenyenga have in recent years been alternating between the Premier League and the FDN but this time around they are on the brink of being dumped to the regional league, the lowest point in the club's rich history.
Should TAFIC go down to the regional league, the development will mean that for the first time since the inception of the First Division League (now Premier League) in 1972, the club will be playing regional football.
Having registered two wins out of 18 matches, TAFIC are in a precarious position. They have accumulated 16 points and are four points from safety. The club occupies one of the two relegation spots. TAFIC’s season has been so bad that the team has never emerged from the relegation zone since their 4-0 loss in a season opener against Premier League-bound Nico United.
On Wednesday, TAFIC saw their survival hopes further diminish when they recorded their 10th draw of the season in an away encounter against Sankoyo Bush Bucks. TAFIC’s downfall can be attributed to their many draws.
With just four games to go, there is all to play for TAFIC. But if they are to avoid relegation, they must win all their remaining matches or pick decent points and hope clubs above them lose points as well. Although TAFIC could win all their matches, it looks highly unlikely given their poor form this season.
The other undoing for TAFIC, who will be home to Miscellaneous Sunday, is the lack of cohesion in their executive committee. There have been reports of instability in the team's executive, which many say has affected performance. Some members of the executive include among them, chairman Tebogo Toteng who recently left the club owing to reported differences. TAFIC have a history of boardroom squabbles and neglecting players’ welfare but this time around the two factors appear to have taken their toll on the team.
