Tonota Police Station commander, Superintendent Oteng Ngada said the fatal accident happened at around 5am.

He revealed that the accident took place between Tonota and Foley villages. Ngada said the Royal Africa bus was travelling from Zambia to Johannesburg.

He stated that there was a collision between the bus and a horse and trailer truck resulting in the fatalities.

Ngada said yesterday: “...Investigations are still ongoing. I can only confirm that we have two dead people and others who sustained major injuries. I will share more information after we are done at the scene.”

Unconfirmed reports are that nine Zambians are in critical condition as most of the passengers were rushed to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital while others received treatment at local clinics.
