Local Acts Shine At BAC Semester Shutdown

South African artistes such as the self proclaimed King of AmaPiano, Kabza De Small, along with Musa Keys, and Uncle Vinny were expected to be the headliners that would send audiences into a frenzy of the Amapiano driven euphoria.
These artistes were also designated to bring BAC back into the fold of being a premier event hosting institution after having gone roughly six years without hosting a major entertainment event.
However, the institution’s management is alleged to have sabotaged the efforts of their own SRC who had been instrumental in the organisation and execution of the event.
The BAC SRC alleges that the university purposely failed to honour agreements between themselves, the artistes and event partners.
BAC SRC president, Thero Monakeng, claims that the university’s sabotage directly led to a lower than expected turnout and a less than spectacular showing from the scheduled international artists.
Generally there exists an expectation in the entertainment industry that you should always save the best for last with the best performers being saved for later in the late hours of the night. However, early birds to the Semester Shutdown were confused to see the likes of Musa Keys performing over what was essentially a non-existent audience.
The biggest performer of the night, King of Amapiano, Kabza De Small took to the stage at the expected time of 10pm for a brisk yet vibrant performance similarly looming over a less than impressive crowd.
Kabza’s performance in the infamous South African night club, Konka, just a few short hours after his performance in Botswana is believed to be the reason behind the brevity of his time on stage beyond the confusion between his team and BAC management.
To further worsen the atmosphere, South African artist Uncle Vinny had failed to make an appearance citing that he had missed his flight to Botswana on the day of the event.
This series of disappointments from the international artists created a power vacuum of party crazed fans seeking entertainment that they had been sorely denied that local talent stepped up to fill with a brazen passion.
Local musical talents such as Ancestral Rituals, Mr. Yummy, FME DJs, Chef Gustos, and many more became the stars of the show offering audiences exactly what they had been looking for with back to back excitement and continuous energy.
This energy was further compounded by local influencers including Freddie Pro, BJB and Precious Seloi who carried the torch of the event, letting it end on a high note.
BAC SRC has assured it will be carrying out a legal suit against management, requesting no further comment on the matter until the matter is formally before the courts.
