Man dies in fatal Mahalapye crash

According to No 16 district traffic officer, Superintendent Tuelo Komanyane, the deceased was driving alone when the accident happened. He revealed that the accident, which was reported at around 2:45am, occurred near Mahalapye bridge.
Komanyane stated that the truck was driven by a 27-year-old man who was in the company of two passengers—a four-year-old child and a 25-year-old man—and they all escaped the accident uninjured.
“Investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what really transpired, but we suspect that the VW Beetle driver might have lost control of the car and ended up shifting toward the oncoming traffic lane causing the head-on collision,” he said.
Komanyane further implored motorists to rest when tired because they suspect that fatigue might have somehow contributed to the accident.
