Botho University celebrates 25 years of existence

She said Botho University has worked diligently to become a leader in the use of technology and their efforts for Digital Transformation stood in good stead when the pandemic hit as they moved seamlessly to virtual teaching and learning.
“At Botho we spend a great deal of time and energy to ensure that our graduates meet the needs of the future of work. The Botho Graduate Profile our graduate blueprint in many ways echoes The World Economic Forum report on Future of Skills that lists the top skills for the future such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, innovation, entrepreneurship and self-management,” Ram said.
“Botho graduates are regularly able to secure scholarships to do master’s programmes in China, in Europe and with American universities.”
She said when they started they were a single discipline, IT focussed institution, but over the years the University has developed into a strong multidisciplinary provider.
Botho currently offers diploma, degree, and master’s programmes across various industry relevant disciplines and doctoral programmes are in the pipeline awaiting regulatory approvals.
Over these 25 years the University’s focus on quality and producing employable graduates has led to Botho gaining a solid reputation as a growing education brand in Africa.
The reputation is proven by the fact that international partners both in Africa and in Europe and the US have preferred the university for collaboration. All the international partnerships are active with staff and student exchanges and joint curriculum development.
The University also announced the launch of the BU Community Initiative, which will be the foundation that serves the local community, students and alumni.
The BU Community initiative will allow the Botho to formalise all the community service work that they do by supporting student scholarships, graduate entrepreneurial support, community development projects and research to develop solutions for the challenges local communities face.
