BFA suspend Phuthego, Rollers officials

The three officials, Setete James Phuthego (former BFA competitions manager), Sidney Magagane (Rollers general manager) and Motshegetsi Mafa (Rollers team manager) are said to have been involved in the registration of Ratanang, which was done in contrary to the BFA rules and statutes. Both Mafa and Magagane have been suspended pending finalisation of disciplinary proceedings before the BFA judicial structures while Phuthego’s suspension is indefinite. “The investigations have revealed that the player was registered outside the BFA registration period. The BFA registration period was from 13th July 2021 to the 30th September 2021 and the player was registered on the 28th October 2021,” the BFA press statement says. The release also says matter of the player has been referred to the Players’ Status committee for final determination while Rollers has been referred to the Botswana Football League (BFL) DC for appropriate sanctioning.
Meanwhile the BFA also announced the appointment of Masego Ntshingane to the position of first vice president, which was left vacant by the resignation of Marshlow Motlogelwa. The BFA will then identify and appoint an individual who will act in the position of second vice president.
