Kast, as Molapisi is known in the music industry, told Arts & Culture that the show will come in the form of series every Friday. He explained that the idea is just meant to combine music and food to celebrate the Nigerian culture. Famous for his Tlatsa Lebala campaign, Kast also said the idea to host Naija Nights came after the initial try show when he hosted the Zim Nights. “I was approached by the venue because we have been doing Zim Nights very successfully. So, they wanted to add Naija Nights whereby we will be playing predominantly Afrobeat and Nigerian music. For the first show this Friday, there will be joll of rice, which is the famous Nigerian dish.

But we will be coming with up with ideas every week on what the focus will be for that particular show. But for this one we will be having a good vibe to the Nigerian music as well as enjoying the famous dish while celebrating the Nigerian community in Botswana,” said Kast. He said while the concept of the show is themed around the Naija lifestyle, the shows are not just for the Nigerians but also for Batswana to interact with their Nigerian counterpart and enjoy their culture and lifestyle.

Kast said they expect the shows to be a success just like the previous ones, which had become popular among the residents of Gaborone and Mogoditshane. DJ Tawaz, who is the resident DJ at King Jagaban Lounge, will be joined by Rych Uncle, DJ Cody and Gluv on the decks to serenade revellers throughout the night. The shows, which are free to the public are scheduled to start at 4pm every week.
