This year's edition will be held on April 16, 2022 at Wena Tented Camps from 8am. According to the event coordinator, Machiel Sekaba also known as Uncle Dipopae, the event aims to strengthen the relationship between children and their parents.

He said they wanted to strengthen the bond between children and their parents after realising that in most cases, parents have a tendency of forgetting their children when going for recreational activities. He added that in many instances, parents go out and have a great time without their children. This, he said, is intended to eliminate that mentality. “Kanye Kiddies Festival is designed to cater for families.

Our games are specifically designed for parents and their children. We are about nothing but family bonds. Our entertainment is not only music but also games. We also have inflatables and swings for children. We are giving parents an opportunity to sit at a corner with their children and have fun,” he said. “We want them to bond and play together.

The event will be filled with many activities that will take parents back to their childhood such as koi, debeke, mhele, karaoke competition, dance competition, tug of war and others. Kiddies activities include giant jumping castles, water slides, sack race, quad bikes, face painting, swimming pool, clowns and moscouts, pizza eating competition and carnival rides ” he stressed. Even though the event proved to be a success, he pointed out that they did not own a place where they could hold their events.

He said as a result, they struggled to find affordable venues as owners of the events tend to increase prices of their venues, which in the process affects profit margins for organisers. However, he said since the inception of the event, Debonairs Pizza (Kanye Branch) has been supporting them. He said they assisted them with tickets sales, giving children balloons and pizza eating competition. He added that Shell Mongana, Puma Midas and Darrel Investments assist with selling tickets for free.

He assured the revellers that security at the event will be tight like in the previous events. He added that there will also be security in place by the swimming pool areas to ensure the safety of the children. All attendees will be expected to abide by COVID-19 protocols by wearing masks and frequent sanitising. Tickets sell at P40 for children at P50 at the gate and P50 adults and P60 at the gate.
