Keotsene, who is BVF vice president-technical said although he gave the issue consideration, he was never part of the race. This leaves Magang and possibly Odirile 'Driller' Sibanda to fight it for the top post after nominations closed on Wednesday.

Sibanda was non-committal and said he could contest for the presidency or vice president's positions. The elections will release the names of the contestants today.

BVF sports development officer, Oscar Kurwane said he could not disclose the names until tomorrow after vetting was done yesterday (Thursday).

“At this moment, I cannot disclose the names of the candidates but I can share the information with you tomorrow (Friday). The elections are set for next week and I hope everything will be in place. Clubs have also paid affiliations fees,” he said.

Keotsene said he is not contesting the elections.

“I have never been part of the race because I did not submit my name. Yes, it is something that I gave serious consideration,” he said.

Sibanda said affiliates have submitted his name but he was still unsure for which position.

“I have received three nominations which are needed to submit a name. So clubs have submitted my name but they have not informed me of which position. There are two positions that I can contest for, president or vice president-technical. But I cannot state where I expect my votes to come from because elections are unpredictable,” Sibanda said.

Magang also confirmed that she has been nominated for the position of president.

Meanwhile, the mini-volleyball tournament continues tomorrow. Some games were called off last weekend due to lighting issues at SSKB courts.

There are exciting women's matches between Kutlwano, Kalavango, BDF VI and Yaros. The three big clubs, BDF, Kutlwano and Kalavango bank on power attack.

Kutlwano coach, Dopp Popo said things are going well and the team is looking good although they lost four players to Police VI. Players who left are Tshiamo Chakalisa, Moitlamo Kobedi, Pearl Kaizer and Merapelo Tshimologo.

“But the recruits are slowly getting up to the challenge. We could not finish our game against BDF last weekend due to darkness and we are playing them and Kalavango this weekend,” Popo said.

Kalavango coach, Grecco Marumo said last weekend's lack of planning by the BVF affected them.

“There were two women's games for Saturday and only one game was played and the other one was postponed due to darkness. This coming weekend we are playing three games, one tomorrow and two on Sunday,” he said.

Marumo said they are doing their best to sharpen the players ahead of the weekend clashes.

Yaros coach, Frans Mashamaite said the players have been responding well at training despite an injury to the opposite player, Tiny Maiketso.

“She picked an injury last weekend. Our outside attacker, Gomotsegang Mosiapitso has not returned after she was released to go home after last weekend's games,” he said.
