Zebras in camp for Tanzania friendly

The national team has been inactive since taking part in the COSAFA Cup in South Africa last year July. The Tanzania friendly match will form part of the team's preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Zebras were supposed to play Eritrea in a preliminary round tie, but their opponents withdrew. This means the Zebras will start the qualifiers at the group stages as they bid to return to the AFCON finals for the second time.
'Interim head coach, Mogomotsi Mpote has highlighted that it will be key for the team to reset as they have not been active for a long time and the opportunity for this international action is a positive step towards ensuring the team gets its rhythm and focuses ahead of the AFCON qualifiers,' the BFA said in a statement.
Mpote has called up a mix of youth and experience, with the Morocco-based trio of Kabelo Seakanyeng, Tumisang Orebonye and Mothusi Cooper, all making the cut. Supersport United's Thatayaone Ditlokwe is in the squad, while Mogakolodi 'Tsotso' Ngele misses out.
