And that was during the first stint at Miss World last year. Now, as she heads to Puerto Rico for a second shot at the crown following the postponement of the pageant last year because of COVID-19, Molefe is more energised than ever especially after a busy beginning of the year.

The bald and beautiful actress from Mochudi told Arts & Culture this week that her preparation for the finale on March 18 is gearing up mentally. She said everything that she has been accumulating over the time was meant to get her well prepared. In terms of her mental health project, Molefe said she is almost done with the course. “The course consists of amazing conversations I had with professionals and different fields of mental health with Mmaleshwane Mauco, who is the first board certified registered behaviour analyst in Southern Africa,” she said. Molefe is training on becoming a behavioral technician as part of her Beauty With A Purpose project.

Upon completion of the training programme, Molefe will be an accredited Registered Behavioural Technician (RBT). This is a paraprofessional certification in behaviour analysis. In terms of her recent tour of Botswana with the Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO), Molefe added that she was grateful for that opportunity because she was able to go to different corners of Botswana that she had never been to before.

“This just helps me to go to Puerto Rico having known my country better and be able to not only tell them how beautiful Botswana is but also add that personal experience to it,” she said.

A busy woman she has been in the past few weeks, Molefe was also hosted by President Mokgweetsi Masisi and first lady Neo Masisi for brunch at the State house recently. Commenting on the kind of support the Masisi-led government has been giving her, Molefe revealed that one amazing thing the leaders did in Puerto Rico last year was to plead with Batswana to rally behind her. “That made a huge difference in terms of the Mobstar voting and ultimately led us to be able to compete at the head to head challenge because a lot of it was dependent on the votes,” she said.

Despite the fact that she had been busy in the weeks leading up to the finale, Molefe was supposed to quarantine two weeks before the main finale. Molefe disclosed that she was busy but at the moment she was home in quarantine before she leaves for Puerto Rico today. MmaMpale, as she often called, said now that the second round had come Batswana should be as excited, prepared and geared up as her.

“I am going to Puerto Rico and do my very best. I trust and know that everyone is all supportive and I am thankful for that,” she said. Botswana has done it before on Mobstar placing Molefe on overall third with over 18 million likes in the Miss World Multimedia Challenge. Now they can definitely do it again with the Digital Media Challenge this time for a spot in the top 12 final.
