Trompies, which was formed in 1992, are known to rap in vernacular as a conscious way of addressing political, social and economic issues that affect marginalised communities. The Kwaito band includes Jairus ‘Jakarumba’ Nkwe, Zynne ‘Mahoota’ Sibika, Mandla ‘Spikiri’ Mofokeng, Eugene Mthethwa and late Emmanuel ‘Mjokes’ Matsane. The famous SA Kwaito group of all time will perform in the second city for the first time in over two decades. Legends in Concert’s Lecco Kenosi confirmed that they will be hosting Trompies ‘In the City of All things Precious' for the first time in a very long time as their last performance here was back in the 2000s.

He stated that they decided to host Sweety Lavo hit makers by popular demand. He also said: “For the past years, we have been hosting the Kwaito group in Gaborone and people who attended the shows were from the north hence we decided to bring the show closer to them.” Kenosi indicated that kwaito lovers should expect fireworks as the Sigiya Ngengoma hit makers are expected to take their fans down memory lane with their yesteryear hits including Bengimngaka, Zodwa and Jakarumba. He said that already they are receiving massive enquiries related to ticket sales and assured the revelers that the tickets will be available on Friday (February 25).

Legends of Concert organiser highlighted that Trompies will also perform at Thwaza Vintage Garden in Letlhakane on March 26. He said they anticipate revellers from as far as Bobonong, Kasane, Orapa, Tutume, Nata, Selebi-Phikwe, Tonota and other surrounding areas to attend the two mega shows. Kenosi stated that fans should come dressed in style with pantsula outfits that stand out. He said security will be tight and all COVID-19 protocols will be observed.
