Ba Isago University’s President, Dr Ruramayi Tadu, says the Thought Leader Series will host book launches, panel discussions and lectures by eminent personalities from Botswana and around the world.

Advocate Ngcukaitobi holds the degrees of BProc, LLB (University of Transkei), LLM (Rhodes University) and LLM (London School of Economics and Politics).

He served as law clerk to the late former Chief Justice Arthur Chaskalson at the Constitutional Court of South Africa, and later worked at the Legal Resource Centre, a leading South African public interest law centre, first as a candidate attorney and later as Director of its Constitutional Litigation Unit. He has since been an advocate at the Johannesburg Bar where he achieved the unique distinction in 2019 of becoming a senior counsel after practising as an advocate for only eight years, a feat typically achieved after practising for a minimum of 10 to 15 years.

He has been an acting judge at Land Claims Court, Labour Court and High Court. He is an advocate in the area of human rights, land law, and labour law.

Advocate Ngcukaitobi’s first book “The Land is Ours”, which tells the story of South Africa’s first black lawyers who operated in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, was a bestseller.
