BFA reports ex-CEO to police

The car was part of her employment benefits. BFA president, Maclean Letshwiti made the report on Monday this week. The decision to report Taylor has reportedly been condemned by some at the association, who said the president could have explored other avenues to retrieve the vehicle. They see the decision to report Taylor as a ploy to embarrass her.
Taylor was also reportedly outraged by the decision to report her to the police as she believes it borders on harassment. She is also said to have expressed shock with the decision as the association’s acting CEO Tshepo Mphukuthi had written a letter to her on Monday stating that she returns the car before the end of business day on Tuesday. “We refer to the above and the letter of termination delivered to you on the 18th of February 2022.
In terms of the paragraph of the said letter, you were directed to return the property in your possession. Kindly do so by close of business day Tuesday 22 February 2022,” reads part of the letter written to Taylor.
The former BFA CEO has since returned the car to the association. She also confirmed that she was reported to the police by Letshwiti and was called in for questioning but declined to share details saying that she will talk about issues surrounding her dismissal at ‘the right time’. Letshwiti confirmed that he did report Taylor to the police but the decision to approach the officers was not taken without any malicious intent. “She is no longer an employee of the BFA. She has an obligation to return the properties of the association,” Letshwiti said. He added the letter given to Taylor was an ultimatum after she refused to return the vehicle.
Taylor was recently sacked by the association in relation to a case involving the misallocation of FIFA funds. The funds, which amount to P8.8 million, were diverted to other BFA projects. The BFA said she acted without authority from the National Executive Committee.
