Gladys Shagwa, 62 "I am so excited for the Mares to have qualified. The team has made history and we will rally behind the women. As a football fan, I have never missed a women's game on television as I believe they deserve the same support as their male counterparts. We need to start creating similar vibes as in 2012 when the Zebras qualified."

Phetogo Vincent, 19 "I am happy the team did it for the first time. We thank the players and their staff for their hard work, passion and determination. More should be done to support and promote women's football. Resources need to be availed for the team and Batswana should start supporting women's football and fill up stadiums."

Gomolemo Robert, 19 "As an aspiring footballer, I am elated for the team's achievement. A lot can be done to improve women's football, starting from the grassroots level. The government and private sector should start investing in women's football as the Mares have shown they are more than capable."

Kabo Thamani, 26 "The qualification will put our country in the spotlight during the AWCON games. The whole team should be ready to go and shine and in the process showcase their skills and talent. It is a big opportunity for the team."

Tsholofelo Nicholas, 29 "The team has done it for the whole country and we need to rally behind them like what we did with the Zebras so that they get motivated to do more. Companies and individuals should come forth and support the team financially."
