The smart branch provides all the banking services except withdrawals and deposits, which can be done at ATMs. Speaking during the branch official opening recently, BSB board chairperson Kealeboga Molelowatladi said the BSB Smart Branch provides enhanced fully-fledged banking solutions to the community of Kanye and the surrounding villages.

The Kanye branch opened its doors to the public in June last year. “More consumers are now demanding that financial institutions change the way they do business by becoming more agile and transparent and also by taking an active role in addressing customers’ needs. Botswana Savings Bank is therefore playing an important role in our economy, by taking banking services to the unbanked population so that they are not left behind,” he said. He further urged the people of Kanye to take advantage of BSB’s affordable financial products as individuals and businesses.

According to Molelowatladi, BSB has savings and investment products tailor-made for people’s needs and these can be of aid in uplifting lives or growing their businesses. “I also encourage Batswana to diversify their savings portfolio beyond the traditional forms of investments, such as cattle, to include other financial assets,” he said. Currently, BSB has four BSB standalone branches in Gaborone, Francistown, Palapye and Molepolole and will soon open another one in Maun. The bank also has four co-branded branches with BotswanaPost at Rail Park in Gaborone, Mahalapye, Hukuntsi and Serowe.

Additionally, through the BotswanaPost offices network countrywide, BSB’s banking services and products are delivered to its customers across 124 post offices. In 2016, BSB launched its first card-based transactional account. This account enabled customers to transact with their VISA compliant cards at any ATM across the country.
