When Franco announced that he would be hosting the biggest show of his career dubbed the Soul Fill Up with Franco, he clearly specified that some of the music festival proceeds would be donated to some members of the community, especially people living with disabilities. Soul Fill Up with Franco is a festival meant to celebrate Franco’s musical journey as a solo artist.

The much anticipated music festival is billed for April 2, 2022 at the National Stadium. And indeed, the veteran musician lived up to his promise having already donated a sound deck to wheelchair bound Bafana ‘Dj Bafana’ Keinameng and repairing the roofing of one of MC Maswe’s dancers whose house was damaged by a hailstorm. Last Monday, Gabane United became the third beneficiary from the Soul Fill Up with Franco since plans for the festival started in 2020.

The team, which is competes in Kweneng Regional Football League Division Two, received playing kits, soccer boots, soccer balls as well as first aid kits during an event held at Mountain Valley Bar & Restaurant in Gabane. Speaking during the handover ceremony, Soul FillUp with Franco project manager, Phempheretlhe Pheto said while the objective of the project is to celebrate Franco’s successful music career, they also want to give back to communities that have supported his musical journey.

Pheto also called for people to attend the festival in large numbers, as they will also be contributing to the spirit of charity that the project is all about. He said they would continue to donate even after the event. He said the idea is to bridge the gap in the society. When receiving the donation of behalf of the team, head of technical team Moseki Monnawanoka said the equipment would spur the team to a successful season. He said their target is to promote the team to Division One at the end of the season.
