Ramatlabama police are pleading with farmers with missing goats along the border to come to the station as soon as possible to identify their beasts currently kraaled in Lichtenburg. Ramatlabama Police station commander, superintendent Zibani Mbisana said they suspect the goats might have been stolen either on Thursday or Friday in villages along the borderline.

“We suspect that they might have been stolen either in Rakhuna, Tlhareseleele, Pitsane Molopo, Ramatlabama and Ditharapa villages respectively. With the help of South African police through our joint cross-border operation, we managed to recover the stolen goats,” Mbisana said.

Mbisana further revealed that two South African nationals suspected to be part of the syndicate have been arrested concerning the matter. He added that there is a syndicate of livestock thieves on both sides of the border forcing farmers along the borderline to sleep with one eye open.
