The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Kagiso Mmusi instructed the police when officiating at the ongoing 48th Botswana Police Senior Officers Annual Conference at the Special Support Group (SSG) band hall. Mmusi was highly concerned by the increase in petty criminal activities such as smash and grab and instances of people attacked in the comfort of their homes.

"Eliminate this scourge in whatever form. You have resources, equipment, I instruct you today to use them and make sure this type of crime comes to an end. People are attacked in the comfort of their homes and cars and this does not reflect well on us. Re batla lehatshe le le phepha (we want our country cleaned up to be safe) please end this. What I saw should be the last thing to have happened," said an upset Mmusi following recent reports of Health and Wellness Minister Edwin Dikoloti and others having been victims of smash and grab.
