Motlogelwa, who joined the club in July last year on a 1-year contract, was on Friday slapped with an indefinite suspension. Reasons for his suspension remain unclear, but there are reports that he has fallen out with some senior officials at the club.

Yesterday sources told Monitor Sport that Motlogelwa’s dismissal is imminent although it is unclear as to when he will appear for a hearing. It is alleged that some senior officials at the club are of the view that Motlogelwa does not take some of their instructions. On the contrary, other sources say Motlogelwa believes that some of the demands from the club are not easily attainable or realistic.

Motlogelwa was not available to comment in relation to his suspension. On the other hand, Flamingoes chairperson Tirelo Thebe would not directly respond to reports that the club has suspended the GM. He would also not directly respond to allegations that some in the executive have differences with Motlogelwa.

“Motlogelwa is our employee,” was Thebe’s response when asked if the club has suspended the GM.

Should the development to sack Motlogelwa be factual it will not be first time that Flamingoes part ways with its GM unceremoniously. In May last year the club sacked its then GM Thomas Motsewakhumo after he was accused of insubordination. On the contrary, Motsewakhumo accused the club of cutting his salary without consulting him. The club reportedly cut his salary and that of other players in a bid to counter the effects of COVID-19.

Motsewakhumo was also less than a year into his term, after a he signed a one-year long contract. He then took the club to the Industrial Court but this publication has since learnt that both parties are exploring an out of court settlement

The club also has a pending labour dispute with its former welfare manager, Pele Gaokgorwe who left in July last year. Gaokgorwe has also taken the club to the Industrial Court for unfair dismissal. The club maintains that it did not have a running contract when it parted ways with him, while he maintains the contrary. A court date to deliberate on the matter is yet to be decided.
