NICO United are unbeaten in the Debswana First Division North League this season

The victory means that United have accumulated 23 points having registered seven wins and two draws in nine matches. Nico also have a game in hand after one of their matches was postponed due to COVID-19 positive cases late last year.

Peace Makers, who managed a goalless draw against a visiting Chadibe United, occupy the second spot in the league having collected 15 points from 10 matches.

Santa Green also recorded a very important victory against TAFIC on Saturday in Mahalapye. The 3-0 win took their points tally to 15 from 10 outings, meaning they moved to the third position in the league by virtue of an inferior goal difference compared to Makers.

Chadibe are now fourth in the league with the same number of points as Peace Makers and Santa Green but have a lower goal difference. The rookies have also played 10 matches. Green Lovers also received a massive boost after a 2-1 home win against Sankoyo. The weekend win takes them to position eight from 10 in the league after 10 games.

On the other hand, Sankoyo dropped to position five in the league with 14 points. Following their draw against Miscellaneous, Calendar Stars now occupy the sixth position with 13 points. Seventh placed Eleven Angels, who have amassed 12 point so far, were to play 11th placed Maun Terrors yesterday (Sunday), meaning that there is a possibility that the upper half of the league can change if Angels get favourable results.

Following the Saturday results Motlakase and Miscellaneous are now at position nine and 10 respectively.

Terrors have eight points from eight matches. If they win the Angels clash, they will also move out of the relegation zone. They are above TAFIC on goal difference and have a game in hand as well. Perhaps the biggest loser of the weekend was TAFIC.

Arguably the biggest club in the league, TAFIC have not performed to expectations. Their loss against Santa Green on Saturday meant that they remain at the bottom of the log having played 10 matches. From promotion hopefuls when the season started they are now strong candidates for relegation.
