As per the rules, teams were drawn as per their log standings from the 2019-2020 season. The teams were divided into two parts, the northern and southern regions of the country. Two Premier League sides, Masitaoka and Sua Flamingoes were in the hat since both teams were playing in the lower division leagues during the 2019-2020 season.
In the previous edition of the Orange FA Cup, Masitaoka sailed from the Kweneng Division 1 league to make their first ever-major cup final but lost to Gaborone United in the final. They will face fallen local football giants, Chiefs in the first weekend of March in what promises to be an exciting tie. In other interesting draws, Flamingoes play Debswana First Division North side, Santa Green. Calendar Stars and Motlakase Power Dynamos will square off in an all First Division tie. Red Sparks and Tlokweng United will meet in a Tlokweng derby whilst, First Division South rivals, Uniao Flamengo Santos and Holy Ghost have been drawn against each other. Season three of the Orange FA Cup will kick off on the weekend of February 25-27, 2022 with the teams in the northern part of the country. The southern part games will be played on the weekend of March 4-6. The winners’ prize remains P700,000.
