Zebras Players' Ratings Against Ivory Coast
| Monday June 16, 2008 00:00

Modiri Marumo - 8
Another solid performance from Marumo, which ensured that the Zebras remain unbeaten in the qualifiers so far. Though he was not at the receiving end like in Mozambique, Marumo once again showed quality when dealing with some tricky situations. Thank you very much captain and we hope you take your form to Abidjan this weekend.
Ndiyapo Letsholathebe - 7
He had another storming game for the Zebras and dealt with the physical opponents easily. Won most aerial battles for the ball and guided his teammates from the back. Keep it up mate.
Ernest Amos - 6
When he plays before the home crowd, Amos seems to struggle a lot. Unlike in Mozambique where he hardly put his foot wrong, the BDF XI defender made blunder and blunder on Saturday. Zebras were lucky not to be punished on two occasions when he made silly mistakes. The most notable was in the 70th minute when Boubacar Sanogo got in front of him but the Werder Bremen striker shot wide.
Mompati Thuma - 8
There are no better words to describe Thuma's service to the Zebras. He showed brilliance when dealing with Sekou Cisse until the lanky Roda JC striker was substituted in the second half.
Tshepo Motlhabankwe - 6
Another disappointing display from the Mochudi Centre Chiefs' utility player. He had a good first half but in the second half, he failed to live up to the expectations. He continuously gave away possession but at times was fortunate as his teammates covered for him.
Nelson Gabolwelwe - 7
He seems to have found his form and since the 2010 World Cup/African Nations Cup qualifiers started, he has hardly put his footing wrong. He matched his opponents pound to pound and he did well when defending. Keep going Viola.
Michael Mogaladi- 6
He improved on his performance but Mogaladi still continues to lose possession in crucial positions on the field.
Boitumelo Mafoko- 7
A good performance from the Township Rollers' midfielder. He carried his duties well throughout the 90 minutes and was never intimidated by his opponents who carried a better physical presence.
Diphetogo Selolwane- 8
Dipsy continues to lead by example and once again silenced his critics with a brilliant goal in the 24th minute. Though many people feel that Selolwane's career is over the hill, he still remains Botswana's best hope when it comes to scoring goals. On Saturday, Selolwane worked tirelessly and it came as a surprise to many when he was substituted 11 minutes before full-time.
Pontsho Moloi- 7
Though many people who attended the game questioned his role, Moloi played well throughout the 90 minutes. He tried his tricks to open the defence but was not favoured by his body as he was easily bundled off the ball. His substitute Joel Mogorosi failed to impress and one wondered why he was substituted.
Malepa Bolelang- 8
The ECCO City Greens' striker is my man of the match. He showed a big heart and covered the whole pitch and at times not scared to take shots at goal. 'Chippa' has shown that he deserves a place in the national team as he has been in the shadows under the previous national team coaches.
