Gaborone United (GU) striker, Thatayaone Kgamanyane has been leading the pack since the start of the campaign until last week when Jwaneng Galaxy forward, Thabang Sesinyi dethroned him.

The former has been sitting on the sidelines with an injury and missed a couple of matches for the log leaders. At the time when he picked up an injury, Kgamanyane had scored 11 goals. However, Sesinyi who seems to be heading back to his best form has been banging goals for Galaxy. On Thursday, he scored again when his side defeated Extension Gunners 3-2 and equaled Kgamanyane’s goals (11) this season. Sesinyi was one of the most feared strikers in the league before his moved to South Africa to join Platinum Stars in 2017. However, a long term injury stalled his progress before he returned home to join Galaxy. The lanky forward has since regained his confidence and looks set to give a very good chase in the golden boot race. Kgamanyane on the other hand has also returned back from injury and wasted no time to increase his tally to 12 with a goal against Orapa United on Saturday afternoon. The Money Machine came from behind to win 2-1 courtesy of goals from Kgamanyane and Thero Setsile.

Setsile is also in the top four goalscorers chart this season. The left footed winger has scored in almost all the matches since he joined GU last month. He has scored eight goals, level with Police XI’s new signing, Pako Gaofose who also seems to be enjoying his move to the Jungle Kings. Extension Gunners’ new gem, Kabelo Babusi is also enjoying a good run of form with the Peleng giants. He has so far scored nine goals.
