Letlhakane Police acting station commander, assistant Superintendent Tsholofelo Masole said they have intensified patrols, especially on the streets of Mokgobelele ward where these incidents were high.

Masole said the patrols have started bearing fruits because since they started them they have not recorded any rape case.

“As we suspect, this serial rapist might be living in their vicinity because since we started patrolling the streets women now have peace. However, efforts are in place to intensify our search to locate and arrest the suspect to answer for his offences,” she said.

The suspect usually forces entry through the window or the door when his victims are fast asleep and rapes them.

To date about 11 rape cases have been recorded by Letlhakane Police Station since the festive season. He (the suspect) would usually be prepared for an attack dressed either in a sleeping gown with nothing underneath or a pair of boxer shorts, while in possession of condoms.
