The event which started as gathering of few friends every January gained momentum over the years and inevitably became a commercial activity. During the time, in 2010, Juice Polelo, the organiser of No Half Time Party, gathered a few friends at his home for a weekend chill session, unaware that he was brewing something bigger than he would have imagined.

While January is not a preferable time to host events for music promoters, No Half Time Party organisers go ahead with the January date annually and this year it was also a victory for everyone.

The event started in the afternoon as a chill session with people relaxing on their camp chairs listening to soothing music. As the hours melted, patrons of No Half Time Party put aside their chairs and it was hen time to dance and party. DJs on the day also didn’t disappoint despite the fact that most of the DJs on the line-up were not household names but a combination of DJs from Lobatse, Gaborone and other villages from across Botswana. T.H.AB.O was the MC for the night and he made sure that revellers were up on their feet.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the event is that over the years it has managed to attain a loyal base of patrons who attend it no matter the circumstances. Since the event doesn’t have any performing musician but rather a line-up of DJs on the deck, the organisers made sure that they put more emphasis on sound and stage and they didn’t disappoint. Also the event organisers boast about the fact that their concert attracts a certain class of patrons who are always on their best behavior.
