Vee Mampeezy ditches One Man Show

However, the Taku-Taku hitmaker has announced a new show to be held on September 29, 2022 courtesy of Vee Mampeezy Foundation dubbed “Re Thibisa Lebala Thi!”
Vee Mampeezy had last week announced that he will host a One Man Show on the same date at the Royal Aria Stadium in Tlokweng. It also emerged that another local artist, Atlasaone Molemogi, otherwise known as ATI had also announced his intentions to host a similar event.
The idea to organise the One Man Show for Vee Mampeezy had received divided opinion among Batswana.
While they are those who supported the idea, others were of the view that Vee Mampeezy had copied ATI’s idea. Yet some felt that they are better artists such as Franco, ATI and Charma Gal who have the capacity to pull it ahead of the Letlhale hit maker.
Vee Mampeezy told members of the press that the newly announced festival is part of his long dream to continue his charity work and give back to the needy.
He announced that he would donate 100% of the event proceeds to charity, with about 10 charity organisations set to benefit. He also said his show is about charity and unity. He said it has never been his intention to fight ATI.
“ATI is my younger brother. I will support him because I want to see him grow. I got into trouble when I went support ATI in court. I lost a lot, but I will continue to support ATI. Remove the thought that I want to fight ATI from your minds. One thing that you are going to see about this show is that it is going to bring unity,” said Vee Mampeezy.
He further said his dream is to see high profile names such as South African mining magnate and CAF president Patrice Motsepe as well as American popular talk show host Oprah Winfrey among the attendees of his festival. He explained that his withdrawal from the One Man Show should not be perceived as chickening out because he is not scared of competition.
Gilbert Seagile of Gilbert Promotions said they expect to raise P1.5 million through ticket sales, while the show is worth over P10 million.
He said Vee Mampeezy has always displayed his generosity by giving back to the less privileged members of the society. He stressed that Vee Mampeezy will use the event to mobilise donations for his charitable work.
He said beneficiaries of donations from the event would be selected from a wide range of charity organisations that will be invited to submit their proposals and profiles.
