Mogoditshane police station commander, Superintendent Russ Letsebe said the 25-year-old Kopong native is suspected to have stabbed his 22-year-old girlfriend to death with a sharp object. He said their preliminary investigations have established that the incident occurred at night when the duo was walking home from a bar.

"The deceased had three stab wounds on her back. She was found by a passerby lying in a pool of blood by the roadside and she disclosed that she was stabbed by her boyfriend, Moreri Samhata. The passerby reported the matter to the police," Letsebe said.

Letsebe stated that the deceased was rushed to the clinic, but she later succumbed to her injuries.

The senior police officer pleaded with members of the community to assist the police find the suspect who fled the crime scene.

He said the incident occurred a few days after a 57-year-old man of Mogoditshane Block 5 was also murdered by a group of lads who pounced on him after arriving home from selling his field (masimo), and demanded money.

Letsebe said, the suspects made away with P37 000. He said preliminary investigations show that the suspects after taking the money from the deceased hit him with a brick and he died on the spot.

"I am pleading with members of the public when handling such transactions to do them through the bank to avoid being targeted by criminals. I also plead with them that should they find themselves in a situation where criminals are demanding money and valuables from them, the should hand them over to avoid confrontation and save their lives, " Letsebe said.
