Letlhakane police' s Acting Station Commander, Assistant Superintendent, Tsholofelo Masole, said the first incident, a fatal car accident occurred at around 3pm along the Serowe/Letlhakane road just a few kilometers into Letlhakane village, in which a woman who was the driver of a Toyota Fortuner lost her life on the spot.

"We do not know what really transpired, but the car, which had two people on board, the deceased and a passenger overturned. The passenger sustained serious injuries and is currently hospitalized at Orapa Mine Hospital," she said.

In another incident that occurred on Christmas Day in the evening, Letlhakane police are investigating a murder that occurred around 7pm at Sedibelo bar in Letlhakane village. Masole said the deceased, a 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death with a sharp object by a 27-year-old man after they two had a misunderstanding, which resulted in a fight.

She further stated that they have arrested the suspect who is currently in police custody assisting the police with investigations.

In another murder case that occurred on the same day, Masole said her officers are investigating another murder, which occurred around 9pm at a cattle post in the outskirts of Lucas Mine.

"After receiving a report that people were fighting at the cattle post police rushed to the crime scene, but they arrived when the 35-year-old suspect had already stabbed a 40-year-old man to death. We have since arrested the suspect and is currently in police custody charged with murder " she said.

Masole said both suspects are likely to be arraigned before Letlhakane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
