The two rivals have partnered with the Francistown District Health Management Team (DHMT) to use the biggest football match in local calendar to urge the public to get vaccinated. “Football should be more just than a game. We met and decided to partner with the Ministry of Health (and Wellness) so we can use football as a tool to get people to appreciate that we can fight this disease (COVID-19) by getting vaccinated.

The much-anticipated tie will be played in the second city for the first time. A total of 15,000 spectators will be allowed into the stadium of which 3,000 will get free ticket by getting the vaccine. The top of the table clash will bring a curtain down on the 2021 football calendar. Tickets are selling at P40 for the grand stand, P30 for the ‘panda’ stand and P20 elsewhere. Kick off is 8:30pm and the match will be televised live on Botswana Television (BTV) and Upic TV.
