The event has previously been hosted for a couple of years at different places across Botswana such as Gaborone, Francistown and Maun. It is hosted by Colorful People with the aim of attracting and luring Batswana especially the youth to be proud and celebrate their African fabrics. It gives patrons a chance to turn materials into gorgeous clothes that match current fashion. This is not the first time Blaq Diamond will perform at the event as they made their first appearance last year in Gaborone in March.

However, it is the first time the organisers invite Ami Faku and Big Zulu to the event. They will play alongside some of the most celebrated talented local artists such as Sereetsi and The Natives, Kabelo Tiro, and Dr Vom. The event director, David Letshwiti also known as Fiftytwo, said they decided to change the venue and move the event to Molapo Leisure Garden because they want to provide revellers with a safer and spacious place.

He added that since their clients’ safety is their priority, they decided to amplify and strengthen their already strict security to ensure that revellers and their properties are safe. He added that they will not allow bottles at the venue and therefore people must only buy canned or boxed beverages. Letshwiti stated that cooler box tickets are sold at P50 and will be sold for P70 at the gate. He said they will observe all COVID-19 protocols and ensure that people wear masks, sanitise and maintain social distance.

He further encouraged Batswana to get vaccinated and be safe all the time. Tickets are sold at P350 double, P200 single and during the event they will be sold at P400 double and P250 for a single ticket. They are available at Infinity Hair Salon, Gallo Mall, Liquorama at Sunshine Plaza, Liquarama at Engine in Phikwe and all Super Spar outlets.
