The trio has been instrumental in their respective teams’ journey to the Orange FA Cup Final to be played on Saturday evening at the National Stadium.

Kaunda’s two semifinal goals helped Masitaoka beat Township Rollers last weekend. Phoko has been great between the posts as his clean sheets proved vital whilst Kgamanyane has been the Reds’ brains in the attack.

The winner of the award will pocket a tremendous P40,000. Phoko has also been nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award, alongside Rollers’ Kabelo Dambe and Katlego Mbise of Masitaoka. The winner of the Best Gloves Man will pocket P25,000. The Top Goal Scorer award is contested by a number of players who are on two goals but only two have a chance to go a step further. Kaunda and Kekaetswe 'Mara' Moloi of GU unlike their competitors, will be in action on Saturday and a goal can help either to win the P25,000 prize. The Coach of the Tournament, which carries a P10,000 prize money, has pitted GU’s Innocent Morapedi, Masitaoka’s Nelson Olebile and Rollers’ departed tactician, Hassan Oktay. The referee and assistant referee of the tournament will pocket P10,000.

The awards will be given immediately after the conclusion of the final match tomorrow. Meanwhile, the organisers of the tournament have announced stringent measures of COVID-19 protocols for the final match.

This comes on the back of the country’s effort to try to curb the spread of the Omicron variant. “We need people to access the stadium with fully vaccination cards.

The security will be a bit tight, not because we are not football friendly but we want to keep the people safe. Every entrance will have a security officer and medical controller. We realised that in the semifinal games people at the other stands rushed to the covered stand when the rain started thus not keeping the required distance between each other,” Botswana Football Association football manager, Monnakgotla Mojaki said. Tickets for the game are on sale at Spar outlets, the grand stand at P40 whilst the rest at P20. Kickoff is 8.30pm.
