Rollers, Oktay part ways

Oktay endured a tough start to this week. He oversaw his side’s exit from the Orange FA Cup going down 2-1 to minnows, Masitaoka on Saturday evening in the semi finals. Three days later, league title rivals Orapa United beat Oktay’s side 2-0 on Tuesday evening at the National Stadium in league tie. The Rollers management had seen enough of the tactician after two defeats and the two parties this morning parted amicably. “This serves to inform Ma-Popa that the club and coach Hassan Oktay have agreed to part ways amicably with immediate effect.We wish inform you further that Mr. Oarabile ‘Wilshere’ Seabo has been appointed interim head coach, subject to approval by BFA, until a more permanent solution has been found,” part of the statement from Rollers reads. Out of nine games, Oktay won six, lost two and played to a draw once. He boasts a 66% win rate with the record league champions. Meanwhile Seabo’s first assignment will be against Rollers’ former mentor, Rahman Gumbo as Popa take on Sua Flamingoes this weekend.
