This sparkling wine is associated with quality and status, so the sound of a champagne cork popping has become synonymous with success.

While experts contend that a bottle of champagne opened with skill will make only a very small popping sound, patrons couldn’t care less because for it was time to enjoy bottles of Moët & Chandon.

While most patrons spent the afternoon taking pictures and frolicking on the lawn at Purple Paradise, it later turned into a champagne-fuelled evening with the masses of attendees enjoying the best music on the night. The venue and the setup were tailor-made to fulfil a truly champagne experience.

While the rain did nothing to dampen the mood, patrons descended for a feast under the showers. As per tradition, there was a theme and this year’s theme was ‘Summer with a touch of glam’. Attendees did not disappoint as they dressed elegantly to keep the theme going. Some went for a twist of various themes, but it was stylish and tasteful. Even though the weather conditions were a bit unfavourable for an outdoor event people who had bought tickets made sure their presence was felt.

Guests didn’t need to bring their own table and chairs or picnic baskets packed with food as it is a tradition with picnics, but rather everything was provided for by the GIMC team.

The rain may not be ideal for outdoor structures but patrons couldn’t be bothered and as they danced away the night under the showers. Speaking of dancing, musically, it was superb with Oneal Africa on decks reminding people of the old days when he used to rock Batswana before relocating permanently to South Africa. The sparkling sip of champagne kept most of the patrons at the event until late and it was a truly memorable experience yet again.
