GU soak Galaxy to reach FA Cup final

Both sides had to deal with injury problems, but the moment of the game was Galaxy missing a penalty kick in the second half. Moyagoleele were first to make an attempt at goal with just seven minutes into the match.
Obonwe Maome forced a save from Ezekiel Morake. The goalkeeper was once again called into action in the 15th minute when he saved Keaketswe Moloi’s header. Lucky Mokoena had Galaxy first shot at goal, but Goitseone Phoko saved it. Phoko also denied Thabang Sesinyi on a one-on-one situation.
The Reds eventually opened the scores with a brilliantly taken goal by Mpho Kgaswane in the 40th minute. They held onto the lead going into half time. GU came out of tunnel looking the better side and they doubled the lead in the 55th minute. Moloi got at the end of a good move by the team and slotted into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Two minutes later, Goitseone Phoko brought down Sesinyi in the box. The attacker got up to take the spot but Phoko came out tops. From the miss, Galaxy tried to stage a come back but GU’s defence remained resolute. In the dying minutes, Thatayaone Kgamanyane made it 3-0 with header inside the box.
“When you are desperate and you want to score, you are going to create gaps behind. We lost our central midfielder, one member of the team is so crucial and if they do not tick with the rest of the players it won’t work,” Morena Ramoreboli of Gakaxy said.
On the opposite bench, Innocent Morapedi was happy to lead in to the final. “It was easy, we lost in the midweek. We were too concerned about the cup and we prepared well,” he said.
