The fifth edition of the show will start at 4Pm and run until the morning on Christmas day. People were disappointed recently when the organisers of The People’s Festival revealed that Zodwa WaBantu won’t be able to make an appearance due to COVID-19. Zodwa WaBantu who is popular amongst men is well-known for her nearly-naked antics and in some of her shows she is usually seen removing her underwear on stage. The entertainer and businesswoman recently caused a social media stir when she was announced as a headliner.

The Military Festive Fest organiser DJ Thoko said while in most of her Instagram videos Zodwa WaBantu allows fans to touch her; with the upcoming show fans won’t be able to do that because of security barricade. “This is for security reasons, off course those who buy the VIP tickets will get a chance to take pictures with her,” he revealed.

DJ Thoko also said they added Sdala & Paige who are trending at the moment. He said they will be supported by local acts.

He said this would be a themed event where patrons wear military attire. He said the event started in 2016 when military attire started becoming the ‘in thing’ in fashion circles. “Back then I just experimented and fortunately a lot of people came.

There was a lot of demand and people asked me to do the event again. While we started with local acts over the years we introduced international acts as well,” he looked back. He said while there are many events across the country on December 24, he has realised that every village or district does its own event during festive. He said this would be the biggest event in Kgatleng therefore people will also get to wear the military theme in any style they want. Early bird tickets are sold at P100 and standard cost P150.
