Makhadzi’s Maun show to make up for Ghetto controversy

The People’s Festival, organised by Gilbert Promotions has been involved in a series of successful music shows alongside the South African star, Makhadzi since the ban on music festivals was lifted two months ago.
The next one is billed for Maun on December 22, 2021 at Maun Stadium. Like the previous ones, the Maun show has pulled a massive line up including Makhadzi, Prince Kaybee, Franco & Afro Musicam, Charma Gal, la Timmy, Team Distant, Eskimos, Stika Sola, Mc Maswe& the Beauty Queens, Nature B, Shanky Briz, Dj KSB, Dj Sly, Dj Modric, Big Pun, Lebo Molax, Hey Nyeenaah, T.H.A.B.O as well as Obzar Modidima.
While the line-up on its own promises fireworks, the organiser and promoter, Gilbert ‘PP wa Pimp’ Seagile says they have organised the festival in such a way that it will not just be about music and nightlife. Seagile also said the festival would be exciting, unique and full of life. As a way of spicing things up, Seagile said they have lined up party buses with a host DJ from Gaborone to Maun on the eve of the event.
He said the bus will leave Gaborone on December 21, at 9pm, with trip intervals along the way for small sessions. He stated that patrons on the party buses provided by Another Motsatsi Investments, would have a small camping session at Boro Farms on arrival in Maun. “We want to give our people the best experience of Maun and promote tourism. For those in the tourism industry, we want to show that festivals also carry a positive impact in three areas such as attracting tourism, improving the place’s image and supporting the local community. Just like the Durban July in South Africa, the Makhadzi show will create the same impact,” he said.
The party bus tickets come in two packages. There is the one that costs P1000, which is inclusive of the standard festival ticket and snacks along the way while the other one sells at P2000 and includes the VIP ticket.
Fresh from hosting the other festival in Francistown, which was marred by controversies, Seagile promised to deliver an event free of incidents.
“Our experience has been tested, and we are ready to do the necessary and delivery a memorable festival in Maun free of incidents. Like I said, this is a unique event and we do not want it to be ruined by incidents.”
He said the intention is bring over 300 security personnel manning different critical areas.
Meanwhile, Seagile said they are in discussions with South African socialite Zodwa Wabantu to host a make-up show after the latter failed to honour the Francistown edition after allegedly returning a positive result for COVID-19.
