While new COVID-19 protocols means a changed experience for many attendees, organisers of the three-year-old event bring a new experience with a live performance from Afro jazz artist, Bakang Lenyaola. On top of that, there is a multi fashion theme for BFS patrons being maxi dresses, sun hats and shorts & shades. “Thamaga youth are eager to go out and experience the thrill of BFS and also see their favourite acts perform live. Bakang Lenyaola is the man of the moment in the Afro Jazz scene and he has a new album which includes a hit called Emisa Corona.

He will be supported by DJ FeD-T, Romeo, DJ Thoko, Coopers, Tisco, La Vita, Brich and Otis. We will also have activities for children like face painting, jumping castles, swimming and many more.

This is a perfect event to attend with your family, it’s been more than 18 months of torture; we all deserve this,” BFS organiser Lucky ‘DJ Lucy’ Ranko told Arts & Culture in an interview. BFs has over the years been a chill session with patrons getting entertainment from DJs but Ranko said from the Sunday event onwards they are going to host live music performances. He said live music performances are delightful and among the most intuitive and memorable forms of musical engagements. “We all know that music is the soul of every occasion because it brings people together.

Therefore at BFS we also want to bring people together, not just in Thamaga but people from any place in Botswana can attend BFS knowing that they can get value of their money,” Ranko highlighted. He also said introducing larger than life performances in this event will also increase the entertainment value of BFS and consequently attracting guests and audiences alike.

Tickets for the event are available at Engen Filing station in Thamaga and Spar outlets countrywide. Pre-sold adults tickets cost P50 and P70 at the gate. Tickets for children aged seven years and above cost P30 while children below the age of 7 will get free admission.
