Event organisers, Mo’Nice Entertainment have vowed the event will provide the first of its kind of laid-back entertainment experience, while relaxing and they enjoy with their loved ones.

In an interview with Arts & Culture, the organiser Monica Segobye said the picnic has combined music with fashion to create a unique and stylish atmosphere after theming it an all ‘black affair’. The event will start from 10am till late. “Mo’Nice entertainment was inspired by black colour because it has the aurora of power and it fits into all seasons of life. It is also associated with executive feel and power. It will add elegance to the event. They say black ke colour ya manyora. When in doubt wear black,” said Segobye.

She added: “The event caters for everyone from all backgrounds and style and it is going be a vibe with fashionistas, Manyora and Makhete. Admission requires one to be dressed in a black garment to showcase the uniqueness, boldness and robust dynamism of the colour.” To make it even more engaging, the organisers said they will run a competition for the best dressed during the event under the #dresstokill tagline. “We also have a competition running on social media, and a price for the best dressed at the event,” she added. On the performance side, the event is also very loaded with a host of local artists to provide entertainment on the day.

This includes Baxon, Motlha, Double Up, Tom Triggo, Slow Wizzy, Performancer/Dancers Khonga Roots, Dj Guyvos, Kylex, DA O, Billy, Pearl the Dj, Duece, Soulfheel, Lunchbar, Dollar Father, Omph, Tachy, Makheno Big Souls and LJD while Freddie Pro and Banks will be the MCs.

Segobye said they went with an all-local line-up as they find it necessary to empower the locals who have been the worst hit by COVID-19. “We are giving them a platform to make a living,” she said. Standard tickets for the event are selling at P100 for adults, P30 for kids, while VIP tickets cost P300. There is an early bird special ticket dubbed the Early Bird All Black Squad, which admits five people selling at P350.
