Tonota Police Station commander Superintended Oteng Ngada revealed that the shocking matter occurred on Saturday at around 10:30pm at Mohakamme ward in Tonota village.

He reported that the deceased woman’s boyfriend called the police after he found her unconscious.

Ngada said that the temporary teacher had earlier partied with her boyfriend and friends at local bars.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old woman then parted ways with her boyfriend and friends claiming that she was tired and wanted to sleep.

“We were also informed that, upon arrival at their rented house, she knocked at their housemate's and asked for rat poison claiming that her room was rat-infested," he said.

He shared that the deceased temporary teacher texted goodbye messages to her boyfriend moments later something which was odd as she left the bars in a jovial mood.

Tonota police boss elaborated that after receiving the texts, her boyfriend rushed home where he found the deceased lying motionless next to a packet of rat poison.

Meanwhile, Francistown Police Station commander Superintendent Lebalang Maniki said that they are still searching for the relatives of a dead toddler who was found wrapped in a black bag at the Francistown bus rank.

He revealed that the body of the deceased is still at the Nyangabwe Referral Hospital morgue.
