While Gaborone United (GU) maintained their unbeaten run at the top, Extension Gunners and Mahalapye Railways Highlanders in contrast have kept their winless streak.

Gunners, who recently suspended their parted ways with their coach, lost 1-0 to BDF XI on Saturday.The only goal of the match came from their former attacker, Thabo Metlhayotlhe who netted from a penalty spot. They are the only side in the league that is yet to score a goal this season after four matches. They have conceded eight goals in the process and are currently sitting at position 15. Highlanders are rooted at the bottom of the log with a goal difference of minus nine.

Their situation was compounded by Premier League rookies, Sua Flamingoes in Sowa Town this past Saturday. Former ECCO City Greens midfielder, Tendai Nyumasi scored a brace with the other goal coming from Mcebisi Moyo to brush aside Highlanders. It was the Flam Boys’ first Premier League match in their home ground following its refurbishment. They are one of the biggest movers this weekend with a total of seven points from four matches. At the National Stadium, Gilport Lions also registered one of the weekend’s big wins when they thrashed Notwane 4-0 on Saturday evening. Kesekile Chivese found the back of the net twice with other goals coming from Thabo Motlhabane and Obakeng Ramotlhwa.

The victory was the first for Lions having drawn twice and lost once since the season started. Notwane, on the other hand, went into the match hoping that they can build up from their victory in the last match. Coach Oupa Kowa has since admitted that a lot needs to be done on his side after they registered their third loss from four matches. Morupule Wanderers registered their second victory over the weekend when a solitary goal helped them over Mogoditshane Fighters on Friday night. The victory has taken them to six points and moved significantly from the lower bracket in the league table into the middle. Fighters on the other hand were on their second straight defeat.

They have so far collected only four points from four matches. Orapa United also kept the pressure on log leaders, GU with a 4-0 win over Prisons XI on Saturday. The Ostriches have so far scored 11 goals from four matches and are sitting on nine points.
