The goalkeeper watched from home as her side, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies beat Ghana's Hasaacas Ladies 2-0 at the 30 June Stadium on Friday evening, thanks to goals by Chuene Morifi and Andisiwe Mgcoyi. Banana Ba Style became the first ever team to lift the CAF Women’s Champions League title, as they did so in the inaugural tournament whose finals where played in Morocco. Sundowns were excellent throughout the tournament as they finished unbeaten and kept clean sheets in all their games.
Boseja, however, missed the trip as she continues a rehabilitation process on the right knee. The player signed for Sundowns in the winter transfer window but is yet to make her debut owing to a knee injury she sustained earlier this year. Speaking to Monitor Sport, the 24-year-old confirmed that despite not playing a part in the team's heroics in Morocco she was registered for the tournament and will indeed receive her winner's medal. This makes her the first Motswana to win the Champions League in both men and women discipline. Boseja has now missed the COSAFA Championship and the first rounds of the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifiers with the Mares and the Champions League with her club side.
She said that her return to action is scheduled for February 2022, making her a doubt for the Mares' final round of ACWON against Zimbabwe set to be played in the same month. She is also faced with a mammoth task to claim Banyana Ba Style number one jersey as she is currently down in the perking order behind Andile Dlamini and Asa Rabolao. Dlamini was named the goalkeeper of the tournament at the Champions League finals and named in the team of the tournament.
