I would call the type of music I am doing contemporary traditional music," Hydro revealed in an interview. He said Dimapo was his first album and it was recorded at SkitBeatz Studio and produced by Mokgweetsi Skit Kabomo. “This is the first time portraying myself as a musician. I would ask the public to consider my music to be spiritual and a lot of them can relate and feel what I talk about in my songs," he said.

Looking back, he said he started his music journey at Mogwana Traditional Dance Troupe where he learnt how to play traditional instruments like segaba, setinkane, and marimba le meropa, adding some vocals in them.

He added that his music was different because it was a mixture of folk, contemporary jazz and traditional which also distinguished him from fellow musicians. Speaking of the challenges he faced as an artist, he pointed out that they included recognition and acceptance of what he does as a musician. Even though he is new in the industry, he has worked with a lot of big names in Botswana like Mophato Dance Theatre whom he traveled internationally with as I love Botswana Ensemble. He also worked with Khoisan as their percussionist and Maxy Khoisan as a dancer.

Hydro also worked with Dato Seiko as her percussionist and vocalist and even worked at Maitisong as part of The Maitisong Festival shows. "I will say I am an upcoming artist whom the country is yet to know and appreciate. Reaching the public through my work so far has been through social media platforms," he added.
