Wena, when do you put out your Christmas tree, do you put up all the deco and lights? When do you start planning the long anticipated Christmas day lunch menu? How many people are you catering for? How many courses and types of drinks will you be serving? These are all the things one needs to consider for a successful Christmas day Lunch with family and friends.

Lucky for you. Chellzkitchen is here to assist you in coming up with a spread that is not only affordable, it is aesthetically impressive and most importantly easy to put together. No one wants to toil for hours on end during the holidays especially in the kitchen. The kitchen can get so hot and standing for hours on end is no fun. Essentially holidays are for relaxing and kicking your feet up, our recipes give allowance for that. A great suggestion is also getting the family involved in the preps, including the kids. Cooking together affords an opportunity to bond and work together in creating something spectacular.

The beauty of subscribing to MySurf and watching the lessons is that you can pause and rewind at any given moment if need be while getting the experience of being a part of the session.

Another great way to equip yourself with some amazing recipes is by surfing the Chellzkitchen Blog on The Monitor website, an entertaining collection of countless experiences in the kitchen, stories of how some of our favourite dishes come together and of course the most crucial, detailed list of ingredients and instructions for you to yield the matching results.

This is us starting to think about what our Christmas 2021 table looks like, I don’t have my tree out yet, I can hold off a little with bringing it out. The boys are at school, it is just about to be exam season, and for us I believe the tree might be a little distracting. I have no qualms with people who have their trees out, with stores that have put up decorations, or the one or two Christmas movies I have seen. This season, get all shopping done early, take advantage of sales and don’t find yourself caught in queues last minute.

A favourite classic at Chellzkitchen is Bread Pudding served with Ultra Mel Custard. With a handful of ingredients. Bread pudding is a bread-based dessert popular in many countries' cuisines, made with stale bread and milk or cream, generally containing eggs, a form of fat such as oil, butter and depending on whether the pudding is sweet or savoury, a variety of other ingredients. Special thanks go out to Kurt Mitchell my varsity radio station manager all the way in Cape Town for the image.
